Following the Future: Trojan Commits

Saturday night in Tucson, USC displayed another dominant defensive performance while holding off the Arizona Wildcats in front of a sellout homecoming crowd.

While the Trojans remain ranked in BCS Top five, USC wide receiver commitment De'Von Flournoy has helped Birmingham turn around their season.

  • Matt Barkley - 6-foot-3, 225-pounds quarterback

    Mater Dei 42, JSerra 0: Matt Barkley completed 16 of 22 for 275 yards, throwing four touchdown passes in the first half.

    Mater Dei (5-2) will play Santa Margarita Friday

  • Randall Carroll - 5-foot-11, 175-pound wide receiver

    Cathedral 22, St. Bernard's 6: Randall Carroll had two receptions for 30 yards and three runs for six yards in Cathedral's closest game of the season.

    Cathedral (7-0) will play Bosco Tech next Friday.

  • Vontaze Burfict - 6-foot-2, 240-pound linebacker

    Corona Centennial 56, Riverside Poly 6: The Huskies dismantle another Big VIII opponent with stelar defense an d special teams. On the season, Vontaze Burfict more than 65 tackles in six games.

    Centennial (7-0) plays JW North next.

  • Patrick Hall - 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete

    St. Bonaventure 24,Ventura 6: Patrick Hall explodes for an 88-yard run in the third quarter to give St. Bonaventure some breathing room in the win.

    St. Bonaventure (6-1) will play Santa Barbara Thursday
