Massive Hargrave OL talks recruiting
Rivals just named Bobby Massie the top Prep School prospect in the country last week. The massive offensive tackle had a list of offers last year as a high school senior, but decided not to sign with anyone in 2008. Now, he is at Hargrave Military working to get qualified and he will sign with a school in 2009.
Any time a young man moves into a military atmosphere, there will be some changes to his every day life. Massie learned that immediately. He was not used to having his day set for him like it is now, but he is getting adjusted.
"The biggest adjustment has been the military. That is the biggest adjustment," said Massie when asked how things have changed since arriving to Chatham (VA).
He also mentioned the competition there, run blocking, pass blocking, and practicing with his teammates every day are different. The talent at Hargrave is strong and deep and just going up against those guys in practice is better than what he played in games a year ago.
"Coming from LCA (Liberty Christian Academy) to Hargrave, there is competition. In private school, we don't play a lot of big players like that."
Massie feels he will benefit from going against his teammates.
"You just get better every day and you got to come to work every day. Going against Toby Jackson and Leon Mackey, you got to bring your 'A' game. You have to bring every time you step on the field."
His number one goal at Hargrave is to get qualified academically and to be enrolled next summer at the Division I school of his choice, but he has another goal in mind.
