Texas WR still has the Cardinal on his radar

The offers are coming in fast and furious for standout WR Terdema Ussery but one school remains near, if not at the top, of his short list.

And while he hasn't narrowed that list down yet, the 6'4, 195 lb. Ussery is sure about one thing.

"Oh, yeah. Stanford is definitely in my top 5," Ussery said.

The California native has visited Palo Alto three times and with numerous family in California, playing his college ball on the West coast would almost be like coming home.

Ussery lists Stanford, Cal and Colorado among others that are recruiting him the hardest at this time.

Ussery participated in 7-on-7 leagues this summer. Two-a-days just began for the senior at Dallas (TX) St. Mark's high school and the tall WR expects big things from his team this year.

"I'm real excited for this year, we have a lot of starters coming back and we should be a force," Ussery said.

One big attraction to Stanford is the head coach. "Coach Harbaugh has the program headed in the right direction," Ussery said.

"He is a great man, as well as a great coach. I expect him to do spectacular things at Stanford."

An accomplished track athlete, Ussery sees football being his main focus at the next level. "Several schools have talked with me about it (running track), and told me the opportunity is there if I want to. But I think I will stick with football," Ussery told us.

Ussery said he hopes to narrow his list down before his 2008 football season begins. His top schools will come into focus but it looks like the Cardinal will be there until the end for the top WR.
