Georgia LB Picks Up Tennessee Offer

With football camps going on all week long at Tennessee the Vols are getting plenty of chances with prospects to both 'see and be seen'. Georgia linebacker Nigel Mitchell-Thornton was in town for camp on Thursday, his second trip to campus since the spring. The first trip gave him a good overview of the Tennessee program, the most recent one netted him a scholarship offer.

Mitchell-Thornton (6-foot-2, 228 pounds, 4.7 40-yard dash), from Stephenson high school in Stone Mountain, caught Tennessee's attention after a strong junior season at a high school program well-known for producing SEC talent.

The Vols and other SEC heavyweights held of on offering during the spring though while firm offers from programs such as Wake Forest, Duke, NC State and Stanford started to filter in for him.
