Hurst continues to pick up offers

As one of the top defensive backs in a loaded secondary at Lancaster High School, Demontre Hurst is getting a number of looks from major programs and his offer list has been on the rise. Recently, Hurst picked up two new offers and looks to be close to a third big one.

"Utah and Wake Forest, they offered me and then I talked to the Michigan coach and he said that he was going to offer," Hurst said. "I talked to the Michigan coach Thursday night. He told me to give him a call back but I hadn't saved the number so I couldn't call him."

Hurst believes that a few more schools may be close to extending him an offer as well.

"Kansas and Nebraska, I guess I'm on their list right now and TCU," he said. "I'm talking to them and they say I'm on their list and they're going to evaluate me with the coaching staff."

All of the increased attention has been an exciting experience for Hurst.

"Yeah it's exciting," he said. "At the same time it's kind of crazy because they're calling all the time. I average at least two or three calls a week. They're telling me to go to their websites to check out some things. I like a lot of them."

Hurst has not gotten to the point where he has any favorites yet. At this point, he is simply taking in the process.

"I don't know yet because I like all of them," he said. "I'm going to their websites to see what type of school they have with academics. I'm keeping my options open. I don't want to rush into anything."

As he continues to gather information, Hurst is planning a busy summer of camps.

"I'm supposed to be going to the Arizona next weekend for a camp down there because the coach, he wants to see us," he said. "I'm scheduling different camps, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State all the local ones. My granny, she stays in Oklahoma so I go down there a lot so I might take a tour of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. I've already been to Texas and Texas A&M and TCU so I kind of want to go to some schools this summer that I haven't seen too."
