Frogs make another splash

With commitment after commitment rolling in this year at a record pace, the Horned Frog faithful have been holding their collective breath waiting to see who will be next? Will it be the big time runner that's highly coveted by the purple clad Frog nation or will it be another headhunting defensive player to add to Coach Gary Patterson's arsenal?

Well the answer to this question is music to the ears of players, coaches and fans alike. Waymon James (5-8, 200) out of Sherman, TX has joined the ranks of TCU commits for the class of 2009. With the addition of James, the Horned Frogs have added yet another weapon to the mix as they continue to stockpile talent in what looks to be the best recruiting class in the Gary Patterson era...maybe ever.

PurpleMenace.Com caught up with Waymon Monday night to get his thoughts on his decision and to find out what ultimately made him pull the trigger.

"Well, for one, it's close to home. I've been talking to the coaches and I like what they've been saying. They are always straight forward with me and I believe what they are saying" said James. "I really like to coaching staff a lot too, that's one of the main reasons that I committed."

With all of the attention that was beginning to come James' way, it was starting to take it's toll. Now, with his decision out of the way, James can focus on the one thing that he truly loves and that's football.

"Yes sir, I'm glad to have my decision out of the way. That just means that there's no more stress on me and I can focus on football. I'm happy with the decision that I've made."

While James is the 9th commitment for the Frogs this year, another factor in his decision to come to TCU was the talent that is being accumulated in the class of 2009.

"I just see that they have a lot of talent coming in. I look on their list and see a bunch of talented athletes and I want to be a part of it."

Now that number nine is in the bag, the Frogs will try to keep the momentum going as they plow through May and into June. Coach Gary Patterson and his staff continue to make waves with this current group of players that are committed and they look to be in very good position to lock up a few more top notch players in the very near future. It's obvious that Texas is deep in talent but this year, more than in any time in recent memory, the Horned Frogs are making their mark on a National level for 2009. Who will be next? Stay tuned to PurpleMenace.Com to find out.
