Davis watches Iowa practice
Four-star wide receiver Keenan Davis was among the visitors at Iowa's big junior day last week. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Davis, who attends Cedar Rapids Washington, has been a frequent visitor to Iowa City, but this time around had the chance to watch the Hawkeyes work in spring practice.
Davis, who the Hawkeyes offered nearly a year ago, has gotten to know new wide receivers coach Erik Campbell pretty well since he joined the Iowa coaching staff in February. The junior day visit allowed the highly ranked prospect to watch Campbell at work with his players.
In addition to making several visits in recent months, Davis stays in regular contact with the Iowa coaching staff. In fact, the four-star prospect receives a handwritten letter from the coaches every day.
While Iowa may be recruiting him the hardest, they are certainly not the only school on his list. Currently, Davis sits at eight scholarship offers with more likely on the way. Right now, the offer list includes Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Kansas, Illinois, Oklahoma, and Colorado.
Davis, who plans to return to Iowa City on April 19 for the Hawkeyes' spring game, was recently invited to play in the Under Armour All American Game in Orlando next January. Currently, the wide receiver still plans to make his decision on signing day 2009.
