Webb discusses Tech's Junior Day visit

The state of Oklahoma was very kind to Texas Tech in the class of 2008, with Seth Littrell reeling in several high profile commits from the Sooner State. Littrell and the Red Raiders are looking for a repeat of their success in the 2009 class, and one of their top targets is Owasso standout Brandon Webb.

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound guard's stock is rising with each passing day and the four-star prospect's schedule is becoming increasingly busy.

"It's going very well right now," he explained. "I'm just getting ready to head up to Arkansas this weekend and check that out. Pretty much, everything is going well."

Though Arkansas is this weekend's destination, that's not the only school Webb and his family have been to see.

"I've already visited Kansas, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, Texas Tech, and then I'm headed to Arkansas this weekend," said Webb. But what about Oklahoma? "I'll be going to Oklahoma sometime in the future, but I'm just not sure yet."

Of course, most people familiar with Webb's lineage would understand exactly why he'll be visiting Oklahoma in the near future- Webb's dad just so happens to be former Sooner All-American Terry Webb. Still, despite Webb's family connection to the Sooners, he says he's keeping his options open.

"No, I wouldn't consider myself an OU lean at all," he said. "I'm pretty much wide open at this point. All I know is that I'm going to decide before the season."

Webb, who holds offers from Tulsa, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Arkansas, and Missouri, says his father just wants what's best for him, though that might not be the case with everyone in his community.

"My dad just wants me to be comfortable. He knows that it's going to be me that lives there for four years, not him," he explained. "It's pretty much divided in my community, half of 'em want me to go to OU and the other half wants me to go to OSU, so it's pretty evenly divided actually. But, that doesn't mean I'm not considering out of state schools, because some of my top schools are out of state, and that's why I've been visiting so many out of state schools."

One of those out of state schools Webb's considering is Texas Tech, so the big man took some time last weekend to check out the Red Raiders' junior day.

"I went down to Texas Tech last weekend for their junior day," he explained. "I liked everything a lot and it was really cool all around. Coach Littrell is a cool guy- my dad likes him a lot and they are real cool, so that's always good. We went down and stayed Saturday night and came back Sunday and had a real good time down there."
