Wingo says he's always admired OU

Outside of the quarterback position, there is no position Sooner fans seem more focused on than running back. One player that has caught a lot of national attention, and recently that of the Sooner coaching staff, is St. Louis University four-star Ronnie Wingo.

The 6-foot-2, 206-pound running sensation is currently ranked as the nation's No. 53 prospect and already has six offers and may be nearing another one with the Sooners suddenly taking interest. In fact Wingo recently had a talk with Sooner running backs coach Cale Gundy.

A conversation that was somewhat inspired by the fact that Wingo says he grew up as a Sooner fan.

"Yes sir, I've always been a fan of OU. They always win and were good when I was growing up, I like to win so it kind of went together," Wingo said. "Then you add in that my favorite player is Adrian Peterson and he went there, so that helps."
