Ealey is excited about his decision
Monday was a great day for Bulldog fans because they learned one of the top junior running backs in the country had committed to them. UGASports broke the news that WaShaun Ealey decided to pull the trigger early and quoted his coach in that breaking story. We have now caught up with Ealey and he is very excited about his future in Athens.
"I didn't want to wait long after I got the Georgia offer," said Ealey. "Georgia's Coach Jon Fabris called my coach (Milan Turner) and told him that they wanted to offer me last week."
"After I got the offer, I called Georgia and they told me they were only going to take one running back next year and I wanted to be that guy. I thought about it for a little bit and I then committed to Georgia."
He called Georgia Head Coach Mark Richt first, but talked to a couple other Bulldog coaches as well.
"Coach Richt was the first coach I called and I just told him that Georgia is where I want to be and that I was ready to commit. He was excited about it and we talked a little bit more."
"I then talked to the recruiting coach that offered me, Coach Fabris and then I talked to the running backs coach, Coach [Tony] Ball. I told them I was committing to Georgia and it was great."
