First offer is a big one for Vasser

Linebacker is a very talented position in Georgia for the class of 2009 and one of the best picked up an offer from the Dawgs recently. The University of Georgia has not offered many juniors yet, so this offer made a big impression on Chase Vasser.

"Man, I am feeling very well now," said Vasser minutes after he found out about the Georgia offer. "I have been waiting on the first offer and I got it today."

Georgia's linebacker's coach John Jancek made the call the Chaestatee Head Coach Stan Luttrell and that is how the offer was made.

"Coach Jancek called my coach (Luttrell) and told him I was one of his top linebackers and he wanted to offer me. Coach Luttrell then called me and told me about the offer and I was hysterical."

"I jumped up and told my mom, then I called my grandfather, then I went and told my neighbor and called some other people. They are all big Georgia fans, so they were excited with me. It just feels great to have an offer from them."

Georgia had been recruiting Vasser, but he did not expect an offer this soon.

"I had talked to them through email, I visited there for a game and all that, but I did not think they would offer me until after signing day," said the 6-foot-3, 207-pound junior.
