Stoops Still Chasing Elite Texas Corner

Going into the month of August, defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach, Mike Stoops currently has two cornerback prospects already committed to him. But is the search continues as Stoops is looking to land a third and Dallas (Texas) Bishop Dunne four-star prospect, Nick Watkins is one he has his eyes on. The 6-foot-1 and 180-pound defensive back was one of the first offers given out by Oklahoma in the 2014 class at the position and his list has since grown to 30-offers.

This past summer, while numerous other recruits were out on the trail taking visits to different programs, Watkins really hasn't been worrying too much about recruiting and says he only visited Alabama during the summer. Instead the Rivals250 member has been focused on his game so he can bring even more to the table on the field this upcoming season.

"I feel I definitely have gotten better from a strength standpoint and confidence. My understanding of the game is a lot better now than it was last year and I think I understood pretty good last year," Watkins stated.
