Hendrix Waiting Out Possibilites

North Carolina coaches have made their way down to the Texas state, as one might have seen that quite a few players recently have received offers from the Larry Fedora and the Tar Heels.

Another offer was handed out to a safety from Bishop Dunne in Texas, as Payton Hendrix received his offer last week from North Carolina.

Hendrix is a big guy, which offers a lot of physical tools to whomever he commits to, as he will be coming in at six foot three and at 187 pounds and only getting bigger and stronger.

Tar Heel Illustrated was able to speak to Hendrix recently about the recent offer and to allow people to get to know the safety from Texas, who holds multiple offers from schools around the country.

Hendrix currently holds 12 scholarship offers as of right now, from schools such as Texas Tech, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas St., Nebraska, SMU, and Stanford, to go along with his North Carolina offer.

Even though Hendrix has been receiving these offers, he informed that there isn't a school that stands out to him as of right now. However, Hendrix plans to make some visits around his hometown coming up in the future, but still has plans to make it up to North Carolina.

"I'm pretty sure that I will schedule visit to North Carolina," Hendrix said.

When asked what he and the coaches have been talking about, Hendrix was able to inform THI, as he has talked to the coaches as recently as last week.

"I have talked to them last week," Hendrix replied. "They have just seeing how interested I was with North Carolina and that I had a scholarship with UNC, and to just to stay in contact with them while hopefully I can get up there sometime."

Hendrix knows that the UNC offer is a big one, as it is currently the only ACC school to offer him right now.

Hendrix was able to comment on his thoughts about the offer and what he envisions himself doing for the team.

"North Carolina is a big time program in the ACC. I think I would be able to be physical at defensive back and would be able to play corner if needed, even at safety; just bring my physicality to the field (when asked what he could bring to UNC)."

Coaches have enjoyed how Hendrix plays on the field, as he is a very physical play maker on the field. He can cover a ton of ground, while being able to read the quarterback and play aggressively on the ball, whether it is in the air or on the ground.

Another area that the coaches enjoy is how Hendrix shows his ability to be a versatile football player on the field, playing multiple positions.

As mentioned above, Hendrix seems to be taking his time with his offers and visits, as there hasn't been any school that stands out to him the most.

However, look for Hendrix to make his decision sometime after his senior season, as he will be taking multiple visits to different schools in the coming year.
