Florida latest to offer Rivals100 running back

Under former head football coach Urban Meyer, due in large part to the connections of Brian White, Florida would cherry pick the state of California, landing a top tier player from the state here and there. In doing so the Gators signed five Cali prospects (Duke Lemmens, Carl Moore, Edwin Herbert, Ronald Powell and Joshua Shaw) in Meyer's last four recruiting classes.

However, with the arrival of Will Muschamp, Florida has concentrated their recruiting efforts much closer to home and haven't landed a Golden State prospect in the last three recruiting cycles.

If early offers and activity are any indication, the Gators are once again making a concerted effort to be active out on the left coast.

The newest offer out this week is to Oakley (Cali.) Freedom Rivals100 running back Joe Mixon. Though it is only February, the talented west coast running back already holds 37 offers.
