Holmes, C-A make statement

One of the marquee match-up this first weekend was Flint Carman-Ainsworth vs. Grand Blanc High School. Grand Blanc has multiple BCS level prospects and is looking to improve on a deep playoff run last year. C-A features Michigan State running back commitment Gerald Holmes. SpartanMag.om has that and more.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Holmes missed much of last season with a leg injury and was anxious to prove that he is one of the top running back prospects in the Midwest. Grand Blanc features multiples BCS prospects including Pittsburgh commitment Luke MacLean and Daniel Davis on defense. In the end, the rushing attack of Carman-Ainsworth was too much for Grand Blanc as the Cavaliers rolled to a 27-12 victory.

Carman-Ainsworth will look to continue its winning ways next weekend when they host Saginaw Heritage. Grand Blanc will look to bounce back when the travel to play Livonia Churchill.
