Okonoboh recaps SU trip

Tilton (NH) Tilton School power forward Goodluck Okonoboh was one of a few prospects on campus this weekend. After his visit he spoke about how the trip was.

"It was real fun it was a great atmosphere, great fans. It was a really good visit," Okonoboh said. "The stadium was packed. Last time we went the stadium was packed, but this time it was really packed, like really really packed. It was different because Nerlens [Noel] reclassified to the class of 2012 and everybody wants him to go to their school and it was just a big difference this time."

The 6-foot-7, 210 pound power forward continued on about the size of the Syracuse crowd on Saturday.

"To myself I personally think having a crowd that big is wild. It is crazy to see just how many people were there. The TD Bank Garden is like half of that."

Other than the jam packed Carrier Dome everything is pretty much the same with Okonoboh when it comes to his interest level in the Orange. He has talked in the past about what he likes about what the Orange have to offer and he reiterated those points again.

"Syracuse is a really good school and their basketball is really good. I have a real close relationship with the coaches at Syracuse. I just think Syracuse is a real good school. Coach Mike Hopkins is recruiting me. We have a very good relationship."

Despite seeing Syracuse two times this season and being blown away by the crowd over the weekend the three star prospect is not ready to name favorites.

"I do not have any favorites right now. I would say everybody is still the same."

More visits will be planned in the future, but at this time Okonoboh is not sure where he is going. When he does start taking more trips there will be more schools to look at.

"I will take more visits, but I am not sure where I am going," Okonoboh said. "Villanova is the new school that has jumped in the mix. My coach really takes care of that and during offseason I will focus more on that. Right now I just want all of my focus being on the season."

This season is in fact going very well for Okonoboh and his Tilton teammates.

"The season is going real well. We are 22-3. We have games this week, but our next big game is next week against Brewster Academy. My season individually is going real well. I feel like I am coming into my own and I am getting better every day. I just know if I keep working hard I will continue to get better."

Once this season is over then recruiting will pick up for Okonoboh and he has a plan.

"I am thinking this summer I will make a decision. After my AAU season I know a lot of colleges will be coming into the mix so I will try to make my list after the AAU season. I will come up with a list of a top eight or ten. Right now I am just taking it all in and everybody is equal."
