Collins enjoys visit

When Marcus Collins landed a late scholarship offer and signed with the Hawkeyes in February, he did so without ever visiting the campus in Iowa City. This past weekend, the 6-foot-0, 215-pound linebacker finally had a chance to make his official visit and came away even more impressed with what the University of Iowa has to offer. We caught up with Collins to get his thoughts on the trip and his future with the Hawkeyes.

Q: How was your official visit?

COLLINS: It was awesome. When I got out there, I met with the coaches and they took me around the football complex and their offices. I met with the strength and conditioning coach, Coach Doyle, and we talked about the workouts they want me to do before I get there. Then I met my host, Anthony Hitchens, and he was a great person, all the players were really. Definitely, the chemistry on that team is phenomenal. The team and the staff really care about each other and love to be around each other, so that really made me feel at ease.

As a senior, Collins finished with 90 tackles and 15 sacks at Monsignor Bonner High School where he earned defensive MVP honors in the Philadelphia Catholic League.
