Collins will sign with Iowa

After taking a day to think it over, linebacker Marcus Collins decided to take a leap of faith. The 6-foot-0, 215-pound Philadelphia native is going to sign with the Iowa Hawkeyes tomorrow without ever visiting campus. Collins talks about his decision and much more.

Q: Are you signing tomorrow?

COLLINS: Yes. I sat down with my parents tonight and decided to go ahead and sign with the University of Iowa.

Q: What all went into that decision since you are committing without ever visiting?

COLLINS: We just talked about things and my mom and dad were happy about the whole situation. We actually checked out the University's website and took a virtual tour. I looked at my major (marketing) and some of the great people that have graduated from the University with that major and what they're doing with their lives now. My mom said, "Just step out on faith and take it," so that's what I'm doing.

As a senior, Collins finished with 90 tackles and 15 sacks at Monsignor Bonner High School where he earned defensive MVP honors in the Philadelphia Catholic League.
