Haughton-James presents possibilities

When NFL defensive coordinators started putting their best athletes on the edge, offensive coordinators drafted quicker people to man the tackle positions and block the sleek models on the other side of the ball.

College recruiting was soon to follow. Great BCS defenses are stamped by the ferocity of their outside rush, where they use their best athletes at end, safety and weakside linebacker.

West Virginia continued its desire last week to control these defensive marauders like Mountaineer Bruce Irvin with a new-wave tackle prospect.
