UK commit thinking things over

Three-star defensive end David Washington got a late start to his Mississippi State official visit this weekend not arriving in Starkville until Saturday morning.

But the Kentucky commitment stayed the entire 48 hours he was allotted and did not leave campus until Monday receiving his share of one-on-one time in the process.

"It was alright," Washington said. "I missed all the fun stuff because I got there after everybody. I really didn't get to do anything fun because everybody was tired from the day before. I just hung out with the players and whatnot."

Washington was hosted by the Bulldogs rising junior defensive tackle Josh Boyd on his visit.

The visit helped the 6-foot-3, 270-pounder get a better feel for MSU's coaching staff as a whole.

"It's a family oriented coaching staff," Washington said. "All of them are great men and husbands and fathers to their families. Everybody just had a nice aura about themselves."

Washington also gets the same feel from his recruiting coach who was also be his position coach at Kentucky David Turner. Turner also served as the Bulldogs defensive line coach from 2007-09.
