3-Star Texas CB makes a switch

Deep in the heart of Texas, a 3-star corner back has had a change of heart by making a decision to switch his verbal commitment from Minnesota to NMSU.

Samuel Oyenuga comes in as the tenth verbal commitment for the 2011 season. Oyenuga hails from Rowlett, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, Texas.

Oyenuga orginally committed to Minnesota over the summer but recently changed his mind after meeting with Aggie assistant coach, Jason Lenzmeier.

Oyenuga's reason for changing his verbal commitment is unclear right now. Was it due to the cold weather in Minnesota compared to New Mexico? Playing quite a bit closer to home could have played a major part in his decision.

Oyenuga is considered a "physical cornerback", according to coaches and Oyenuga himself. Oyenuga was quoted by GI.com, "I am very physical on the field and I don't want to be known as just a cover corner," Oyenuga said. "I want to be able to be counted on to help out on run defense as well."

Oyenuga can play different positions in the Aggie secondary. With his speed, Oyenuga can play at the cornerback position or at the safety position.
