Teague has UW in top five

This late in the recruiting cycle it seems as though the Wisconsin coaching staff is reluctant to hand out many more full scholarship offers. Instead, Bret Bielema and company are trying to sell the gray shirt to potential prospects.

It seems to be working.

Late Monday night the Badgers welcomed Derek Watt to the class as a gray shirt. Now, it looks as though Akise Teague is being recruited to follow in the same footsteps.

"I like Wisconsin a lot," Teague told BadgerBlitz.com late Wednesday night. "I like the stadium and the atmosphere. They get crazy every game night and they have a real nice coaching staff."

Joe Rudolph, one of UW's best recruiters, is leading the charge in Teague's recruitment. The three-star tailback prospect also has offers from Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Miami (OH), Ohio and Youngstown State.

According to Teague, the tailback prides himself on his versatility and ability to not only lineup in the backfield, but also in the slot as a receiver. At 5-foot-8, Teague also says he plays bigger than his size.

Though he was unable to set up an official visit to take in a game this fall, Teague is planning on traveling to Madison December 10th for a visit. That could be about the time he decides to pull the trigger and make an announcement regarding his college plans.

"After the state championships," Teague said. "It will probably be a little bit later than that."

Teague and his teammates are currently in the third level of the Ohio State high school playoffs. According to Teague Wisconsin is currently listed in his top five.

The Badgers currently have 19 commitments in the 2011 class.
