Tech still after Green
Clairton (Penn.) defensive end Desimon Green committed to Pitt back in August, but Texas Tech has remained in pursuit of the 2011 standout. Green indicates that a visit to the program could be in his future.
"I don't have plans made right now to visit anyone else, but we'll see what happens. Right now I'm committed to Pitt, but we'll see how it plays out in the next few weeks," he said. "I'm not sure if I'll take any visits at all, really. It's possible, but I haven't decided if that's what I want to do yet or not."
"Texas Tech has been coming at me the most. If I do visit another school it's going to be them. They've been recruiting me hard for a while and I've built up a pretty good relationship with the staff there. I've thought some about visiting for their game against Missouri, but nothing is definite yet."
Green is being recruited by Red Raider assistant coach Robert Prunty. The two have forged a close relationship during his recruitment, and that seems to have kept Tech in the conversation for his services.
"Our relationship is really good. He and I are like best friends. He's a real cool guy and he's always been real with me," he said. "He took a lot of time to get to know me personally before we ever talked football. Not every coach does that, but they've been cool about it. Texas Tech been on me for a while so we've had a chance to build a great relationship."
Last time RRS caught up with the 6-foot-5, 230-pounder, he mentioned that future additions to Pitt's 2011 class, namely at defensive end, could affect his commitment. It sounds like the same still holds true.
"I'm wavering a little bit, but I'm still committed to Pitt right now. Depending on what they do with the rest of their class, that could change. That's true."
Aside from Pitt and Texas Tech, Green holds offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, Syracuse, and West Virginia.
