Harris off to a solid start at Southaven

So far this season one of the most dominant teams in the state of Mississippi has been the Southaven Chargers.

Much of the reason for their early success is due in part to the monster season quarterback Dominique Harris is having. Harris has totaled 1,378 yards and 23 touchdowns already to spring the Chargers to a 6-0 start.

"The year is going pretty good," Harris said. "We've just got to keep our head on straight and stay focused on our goals. We did pretty good against Columbus. The defense got pretty banged up and the offense had to step up and put points on the board."

Harris has completed 49-of-82 passing for 1,240 yards, 20 touchdowns and only one interception through the air. He has also compiled 138 yards and three more scores on the ground.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder threw three touchdown passes in Southaven's 35-14 win over Columbus on the road last week. The Chargers will again be tested tonight hosting another Class 6A foe Tupelo.
