Faciane back from T-Town

Picayune (MS) tight end and Alabama Crimson Tide commit Malcolm Faciane joined a number of other top prospects in Tuscaloosa this weekend to witness the Tide's opening day victory over San Jose State and the 6-foot-6, 265-pound playmaker came away as excited as ever about becoming a part of the Crimson Tide.

"It was great getting back to Tuscaloosa this weekend," Faciane said. "I am always impressed with going to campus, but getting there on a game weekend was great. Even though it wasn't a big game, you couldn't tell it from the crowds. I am going back this weekend for Penn State, and I can't imagine the way it is going to be then. The crowd noise just gets unbelievable."

Faciane and his high school squad are off to a dominant start and while their run-oriented offense doesn't allow Faciane to put up big statistics on his own, he's happy to do his part in helping the Picayune offense roll up massive numbers on the ground.

"I think my senior year is going great so far. I haven't had a lot of opportunities catching ball so far, but I scored my first touchdown on Friday night. We have a great running attack, and I have blocked real well so far. We are 2-0 and I think we are going to have a big, big year."

"Alabama's offense is perfect for someone like me. They use their tight ends more than just about any other college team that I see. Michael Williams is a lot like me. He is a big, tall dude who can catch and block, and I bring sort of the same things to a game."

While Faciane continues to receive letters and attention from other schools, he doesn't plan on entertaining the idea of going anywhere but Tuscaloosa.

"I don't plan on visiting anywhere else other than Alabama. My mind was made up when I committed. The schools in Mississippi are mainly still trying to get me to visit, but I have told them I am done."
