Is Atimalala ready to pull the trigger?

Defensive tackle Tala Atimalala does not hesitate or waver when it comes to expressing his level of interest in the Black Knights.

And it would not be much of a surprise if the 6-foot-0, 270 pound tackle made a verbal commitment to Army, even prior to him taking an official visit to the West Point campus.

"I spoke to Coach Saadat about a week ago and we talked about my official visit to see when would be the best time to get out there," the prospect out of Las Vegas (Nev.) Desert Pines High School.

"So I might come there during one of their home games and maybe make that trip my official visit, even though our season doesn't end until December."

Atimalala admits that he has developed a solid relationship with Coach Saadat, who according to Atimalala, the Army Co-defensive Coordinator assured him that he did not have to make a decision immediately.

And what was the Nevada native's response? "I told him that my interest is very very high," said Atimalala, who also has established a time frame surrounding his college decision.

"I'm looking to make my decision by the beginning of my football season. Our first game which is three weeks and I will be ready to make a decision then

This past couple of weeks I have been reviewing everything about West Point and my dad has help me out a lot. At first he didn't push me at all, but now he is encouraging me a little bit."

In addition to Army, Atimalala is hearing from Florida Atlantic University. "They have been calling a lot, along with emails," he shares as his focus moves from college to his high school's summer practice and upcoming 2010 season. "We just started their two-a-day practices …. Hell week. will continue to follow Tala Atimalala's recruiting through the balance of the summer and his senior year.
