Canadian speedster is a Spartan
SpartanMag.com has confirmed that Arjen Colquhoun has given Head Coach Mark Dantonio a commitment to be part of the Michigan State 2011 recruiting class. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Colquhoun took an unofficial visit to East Lansing with his parents, was offered a scholarship, and committed shortly afterwards. Find out more.
Two weeks ago Colquhoun attended the Michigan State 1-Day Elite Cam and had a tremendous performance in both the testing and drill phase of camp. He routinely made plays against many 2011 prospects that have multiple scholarships on the table. That performance moved Colquhoun way up the Spartan recruiting board and he was offered this morning.
It did not take Colquhoun long to make up his mind. The proximity to his hometown of Windsor, the reputation of Canadians making strong contributions at Michigan State and the Spartan Coaching Staff were main factors in his decision making process.
Colquhoun selected the Spartans over offers from Rice and Central Michigan; however his stock was rising significantly the last few weeks with numerous Big Ten and Pac 10 teams getting involved.
SpartanMag.com will have more details on Colquhoun's commitment in the near future.
