Hillary has offer, would like more
Cincinnati (Ohio) Sycamore cornerback Darius Hillary knows he has plenty of options. The 5-foot-10, 171-pound prospect already boasts offers in the double-digits. Now it is all about making the right decision.
"Some of the leaders so far are Stanford, Boston College, Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota," said Hillary. "Right now, those are the schools that show the most interest. I'm trying to get out to those schools and some other schools as well."
Connecticut officially offered Hillary last month, one of the more recent schools to do so. Though they remain in the mix, Hillary would like to hear from UConn a bit more.
"I just got the official letter that said I got offered," said Hillary. "There hasn't really been too much contact with the coaches, which is kind of bad because I want to get a chance to talk to them and see what's going on up there."
Hillary would like to visit UConn at some point this summer, but said nothing is set in stone.
"I really want to [visit UConn]," said Hillary. "I've just got to sit down and talk to my parents about what time would be a good time."
When asked if UConn could still vault into his list of favorites, Hillary believed they could.
"The coaches need to show that they're really interested," said Hillary. "I really want to see stats about the school in general. When I actually visit, I want to feel at home. That's pretty much what I'm looking for."
After visiting Stanford recently, Hillary said distance is not a factor for him. Hillary hopes to make a decision before the start of his senior season, though he does not want to rush anything.
"I want to get out to most of the schools that have offered me," said Hillary. "Right now I'm not making any big decisions, because I want to see some of these schools and figure out if I want to spend the next four or five years of my life there."
