Is the Price right?

There seems to be no slowing the Ohio State recruiting machine but the newest commitment didn't come from an in-state player that people were expecting to pop. Instead Pittsburgh (Pa.) Woodland Hills linebacker Ejuan Price made a Tuesday visit on campus for the Buckeye and liked what he saw, liked it enough to become the 16th member of the Ohio State recruiting class.

The 6-foot-0, 235 pound linebacker was watching his recruitment pick up with offers from Iowa, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and West Virginia to name a few. But ultimately the chance to join the Buckeyes was too much to pass up. Price is the first linebacker in the class of 2011 and is the 8th player on the defensive side of the ball.

As a junior Price racked up 107 tackles with 32 for loss and 11 sacks for his Woodland Hills team. In Price's video he is nearly unblockable when he shoots the gap for his high school team and his quickness separates him from other players who are of simliar size and build. Price is ranked as a three star and as the 19th overall prospect in the state of Pennsylvania.

The commitment of Price as a linebacker shakes up the board for the Buckeyes with questions flying around about the final destination of Springfield (Ohio) linebacker Trey DePriest. There is always the chance that Ohio State would take two linebackers in the class but something has got to give when it comes to spaces. One other player that remains interested in the numbers is Andre Sturdivant out of Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville high school. He lists now as a linebacker but could end up on the defensive line, likely at defensive tackle.

But none of that matters now for Price who has jumped into the class and locked down his spot with the 2011 Buckeyes. There will be a lot more to shake out, especially after the Buckeyes likely add two more players before the weekend.

We will have more on this commitment including reaction from Price as soon as we can track down the newest Buckeye.
