Hawkeyes offer in-state TE
After an ankle injury cut short his junior season, Mount Pleasant tight end Henry Krieger-Coble knew he might have to prove himself at camps this summer before earning many scholarship offers. This week, the 6-foot-5, 205-pound Krieger-Coble set out to do just that as he made a one-day stop at Iowa's camp on Tuesday and sure enough came home with an offer from the Hawkeyes.
The offer from the Hawkeyes is the second for Krieger-Coble, joining Iowa State, who offered last month. As a junior, he put up good numbers for only appearing in five games, finishing with 34 catches for 491 yards and six touchdowns. Then, a severe high ankle sprain ended his season early and Mount Pleasant went on to finish 5-4.
Krieger-Coble made it back for basketball season and averaged 14.5 points and 8.1 rebounds per game as he helped lead Mount Pleasant to the Class 3A state tournament. Currently, he is in the middle of baseball where he is batting .556 through seven games. In fact, the Mount Pleasant native has received college interest in baseball as well, but now with two Division I scholarship offers on the table for football, his future appears to be on the gridiron.
