Cowboys Offered San Antonio Linebacker
The Cowboys have offered 6-foot-1 and 210 pound linebacker Nick Elder an early scholarship following some early recruiting of the San Antonio native.
Elder looks to fit into the Pokes blueprint of faster type linebacker prospects with his 4.6 forty dash time, as UW wants to get an early jump on the prospect.
The Central Catholic High School player has several major D1 schools interested, including offers from Rice, Air Force, and Wyoming.
Elder describes himself as an intelligent football player, one who competes every snap.
"I really try to take advantage of my instincts and play hard on every snap. I'd like to make every tackle on every play," he said. "I'm a mid 4.6 guy. I think I'm more football fast that track fast. But I'm also an alternate for the 200 meters on our track team so I think I run pretty well."
Elder has interest in Wyoming with a long time until signing day 2011. He says anything can happen in the future.
"I think some of the schools recruiting me are close to offering," he said. "Right now I'm just evaluating the interest and seeing who's going to come forward."
Elder is top notch in the classroom with a perfect 4.0 GPS and 1880 on the SAT.
