Coe likes Oregon's big back tradition
The era of big, punishing running backs has ceded to smaller, shiftier ball carriers as more college programs are turning to one-back sets, but Oregon is one program that still values a big back. One prospect in the Class of 2011 who fits that mold is Edwardsville's (Ill.) 6-3, 230-pound running back Rodney Coe.
Oregon's location in the Pacific Northwest may have been a deterrent to the Midwest back early in his recruitment, but Coe said he has broadened his horizons as the process has evolved.
