'One of the Most Amazing Experiences of My Life'

Although Oklahoma already has one commitment at the position they've continued to work hard in their pursuit of some of the nation's top tight ends. And there is little doubt that Klein (Texas) Oak standout Max Stevenson is one of the fastest rising prospects at the position in the entire country. The 6-foot-6, 227-pound pass-catcher was in Norman last weekend and arrived already holding offers from Arizona, Cal, LSU, and Notre Dame among others.

He left Oklahoma's spring game with an offer from Oklahoma's head coach Bob Stoops.

"The way it kind of worked, I was with Nathan (Hughes) and his mom as well and he went in and talked to coach Stoops before the game so I went in after the game," Stevenson recalled. "I didn't even really think I was going to, I talked to coach (Kevin) Wilson and coach (James) Patton then coach Stoops came walking down the hallway. And asked if I had seen his office and I told him I had not so me and my dad went up there.

"He was showing me his memorabilia and rings and stuff and you know it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I was sitting there talking to someone who I think of as almost a celebrity. He told me 'we have an offer for you and we would love to have you come here'."
