Shazier planning summer visit to State
Plantation, Fla, defensive end Ryan Shazier is quickly becoming one of the most sought after recruits in the country.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder already has 26 scholarship offers on the table with even more on the way.
"Recruiting is going very good," Shazier said. "I have 26 offers right. I recently just got an offer from LSU and I talked to USC and I think they are about to offer me within a week. Things are going real good."
Shazier's offer list reads like a who's who among college football. He has scholarships from the likes of Alabama, Baylor, Connecticut, Florida, Florida State, Louisville, LSU, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Rutgers, South Carolina, South Florida, Tennessee, Texas Tech, UCF, UCLA and Wisconsin.
But nothing about the recruiting process has come as a surprise to Shazier so far.
"I'm not really surprised because my dad told me that it was going to come out like this," Shazier said. "He knew how hard I've worked and how good I did last season. He said that all of these people would end up showing up."
Shazier has taken spring visits around the Sunshine State taking in the Florida, Florida State, Central Florida, South Florida and Miami campuses. This summer he will begin taking a tour around the South including a planned stop at Mississippi State, who was one of the first schools to extend an offer.
