Gladd's Offer List Doubles

When Garrett Gladd picked up his Oklahoma offer there was no one more surprised than the 6-foot-3, 280-pound offensive guard from Sallisaw, Okla. However the big man may have just been realizing the start of a trend as his second offer may have been even more unexpected than it's predecessor.

And while Gladd may not have expected Jim Harbaugh and his Stanford Cardinal to offer him he says the staff wasted little time letting him know that he is a priority for the Pac-10 program.

"It was real out of the blue. I got a phone call from my football coach the other day. Actually I'd been home sick the past few days and he said Stanford had sent me an offer through a fax," Gladd, who carries a 3.95-GPA recalled. "Later that day I talked to coach Harbaugh for a few minutes and the offensive line coach (Tim Drevno).

"(Harbaugh) was pretty funny. Right when he started talking to me he was joking around. He was saying he liked what he saw and then he handed the phone to the offensive line coach.

"He and I talked for a while and then he gave the phone back to coach Harbaugh. He was asking if I liked hitting people and hurting people, he just seemed like a close friend or just a coach you can talk to."

Now it seems that Gladd will return the favor of interest by travelling to Palo Alto to catch a Cardinal spring practice.
