Frogs pick up east Texas pair

The TCU Horned Frogs picked up a pair of east Texas gems over the weekend when Tyler John Tyler teammates David Bush and Chris Hackett decided to give verbal commitments.

Both Bush and Hackett made the drive west to Ft. Worth on Saturday to attend a TCU junior day.

Bush confirmed his and Hackett's commitment Monday morning.

"Yes sir, I committed to TCU. Chris did too."

The commitments are #3 and #4 for the Frogs in the 2011 class.

Bush, at 5-foot-11, 165-pounds, played a variety of roles for the Lions, runningback, receiver and quarterback in 2009. Bush averaged 8.8 yards per carry and 13.2 yards per catch gaining 2nd team all-district honors. Bush, who backed up SMU signee Jeremy Johnson in 2009 will take over quarterback duties in 2010.

Hackett played safety for John Tyler recording 49 tackles and picking off 3 passes. The 6-foot-1, 174-pounder with 4.6 speed was also named second-team all-district 11-5A.

Purplemenace.com will have interviews with both of the new commits later this afternoon.
