Two-way Ohio prospect visiting this weekend

Sunday marks an important day for both the Michigan State basketball and football programs. Tom Izzo's 11th-ranked Spartans play host to No. 9 Ohio State in a battle to stay atop the Big Ten standings, while Mark Dantonio will play host to several 2011 prospects during a junior day.

The Buckeyes won't be the only group of Ohioans headed north for the afternoon, as Dantonio and his staff have invited Brad Carrico, a two-way prospect from Dublin (Ohio) Coffman, to campus to check out what the Spartans have to offer.

Carrico (6-6, 225) currently holds offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Kentucky, Notre Dame and Purdue, while he's seen increasing interest from several others, including MSU.

"Right now I'm starting to build a pretty good relationship with Coach (Mike) Tressel, who's my coach for my recruiting area. I call him probably once a week," Carrico told SpartanMag.com Thursday night. "I'm going to go up to campus for the first time this weekend for kind of a mini-junior day. He said it's only going to be 10 to 15 guys up at the basketball against Ohio State. So that's where it's at so far right now."

Carrico said Tressel has talked to him about an offer.
