2011 linebacker one to watch

One of the top linebacker prospects in South Florida for the 2011 class is Kent Turene of Boyd Anderson. Turene has ideal size for a linebacker measuring in at 6-foot-2, 225-pounds, and he possesses impressive speed. So far one school as come through with an offer.

"I have one offer right now from FIU," said Turene. "They offered me after our 2nd game of the season."

Since receiving the offer from FIU, Turene has stayed in contact frequently.

"I talk to the coaches from FIU every other week," explained Turene.

The hometown school is the first to offer, but the Boyd Anderson product has been hearing from a host of college football powers in recent months.

"I have been hearing from a lot of schools like Ole Miss, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Auburn and Georgia. There are more but I can't think of them all right now."

The anchor of the Cobra defense will look to prove he belongs as one of the top prospects in South Florida this offseason by attending a variety of camps, combines and 7-on-7 events. Turene is also scheduled to take the ACT in April.
