Snake bitten Irish fan here...they might get the ball back, but can they score???

Now trying a clothes hanger...not working.

....and yeah, I googled that too.

Well, congrats are in order Nole, that interception sealed the deal.

Going back to google for some more sure fire ways of opening this bottle of wine. (shakes head)

Posted on 12/29 8:50 PM | IP: Logged

I'd like to say good game but it was a crappy game and I'm happy to have the win, no matter how lucky it was.

Good luck to you Notre Dame fans. I'll make an effort to not be a stranger.

Win is a win. We stunk that place up tonight.

Nothing to be ashamed of Subby. It was a hard fought sloppy game. I'm just happy to come out with a win but in the end the game meant nothing.

Please reconsider.

Keep posting here, Nole, you're one of the good ones. 3dGrin

One good thing that happened just this past hour is a sixteen year old (run away)that was missing for two days was found walking down a street in town. I was one of her first teachers, was a sweet kid and smart too. Glad she's safe and hope whatever's wrong can be righted.

You DC is no Mensa candidate.

Your first half blitz annihilated us. Sitting back on a 14 point lead and dialing down the aggressive pass rush played right into our hands.

Thanks for the game. If you'd played smart, you could have won.

Posted on 12/29 9:22 PM | IP: Logged

Actually, you're no Mensa candidate. FSU adjustments made the rush tougher. What was really stupid was FSU's decision to go for 2 on those last two touchdowns (especially the first one). Of course Rees' physical limitations overcome FSU's mental limitations.

Posted on 12/29 9:24 PM | IP: Logged

Good news. Football is just a f'n game.

ps - I hope you finally got into that bottle of wine 3dGrin.

Posted on 12/29 9:32 PM | IP: Logged

Nope, the bottle is back chillin' and I'm eating carmel popcorn flavored rice cakes with peanut butter/ jelly instead. (popped the tab on a Diet Rite too)

Hope the Irish use the off-season to get the QB situation sorted out.

Posted on 12/29 9:44 PM | IP: Logged

I seem to recall the announcers claiming that ND blitzed 56% of the time, although perhaps the comment was limited in scope, such as blitzing 56% of the time on third and long or some other qualifier.

Regardless, ND had previously displayed a strong propensity to blitz, 80% of our starting line were green true freshmen, and most importantly your blitz was killing us. We made no meaningful adjustment; any way you dissect it, we utilized the same rookie personnel, but ND totally blew it by abandoning its previously wildly successful blitzing strategy, and instead idiotically tried to play not to lose by lapsing into a prevent defense.

That lame decision cost the Irish the game.

Thanks for the gift. Without your coaching blunder, I don't believe we'd have won.

Bobby and Mickey used to employ this frustrating strategy often, perhaps costing as many as four national championships in the process.

Did she have a bottle opener?

roll

C'mon Alice you know that was funny.

Posted on 12/31 7:27 AM | IP: Logged

No, it's not funny.

...besides it was a corkscrew.

I don't own a bottle opener either though. 3dGrin

From my favorite movie 'Planes, Trains, and Automobiles', John Candy turns to Steve Martin and says 'We can laugh about it now. We're all right.' laugh

No but seriously, I'm glad things turned out to be OK.

Nice Place You Got Here.....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
...it does look a bit out dated though.

Ok Notre Lame fans I need some answers. My grandfather (God rest his soul) told me about how ND used to be a pretty good football program. Now naturally I said WTF?

Either way, can the board tell me what has ND accomplished in their lifetime. To further clarify, if you don't hold an AARP card, can you please explain to me exactly what ND has accomplished in your lifetime.

Thanks in advance,

d-ronanole

LMAO, now that was pretty funny D-Man...laugh I doubt you find anybody on this board that doesn't carry an AARP card though...PS: Hi CRW, Hi Alice, little rumor out there that a certain ND LBer is homesick and wants to leave, any truth to that???

Posted on 4/5 5:40 PM | IP: Logged

LB? Wow, you really follow football. The rest of your stuff was clueless as well, but that gaffe particularly stands out.

Dude's back. Awesome.

I actually was going to ask the same question on the rumor. What say ye CRW? I doubt if Lynch left he would go to FSU but what about a UM or USF?

Posted on 4/5 8:39 PM | IP: Logged

Well, first you have to resolve trailer park boy's rumor that the player in question is a linebacker.

Posted on 4/5 9:03 PM | IP: Logged

From what Kelly said, it's personal and Lynch is due back on Monday evening. This is a four day weekend for ND students and maybe too much is being made of missing one spring practice?

A four day weekend for me too. 3dGrin

The "Dude" is an idiot and he can shove that ARRP card up where the sun don't shine. chairshot

Well it is possible that should Lynch drop about 5-10 lbs and develop some zone blitzing cover skills, he could transition to a NFL LB in a 3-4 scheme. Is that close enough?

Posted on 4/5 10:56 PM | IP: Logged

C'mon Alice you know you like Dude. If it wasn't for him you wouldn't be able to 1* all his 5* threads. You'd be missing out on all kinds of fun wink.

I wish I had a 4 day weekend. Instead I have a long weekend full of 'work'. Oh and my new found sobriety (21 days) is getting me a tab bit antsy. Oh well, in a few weeks I get a couple weeks off and will fall off the wagon (or on the wagon, I never know which is which) laugh.

Posted on 4/5 11:08 PM | IP: Logged

Why am I the one accused of one starring El Stupido???? (take the look at the back pages and you'll see the One Star Bandit doesn't like me either) 3dGrin

Drinking faux Margaritas tonight. Other than that bottle of wine I can't open, I rarely have alcohol in the house, I've even cut back on the diet colas in favor of drinking more water. (utterly hate drinking water so I have to flavor it)

You're really going to fantastic lengths to defend and explain the ignorance of your buddy. I guess in sense that's admirable.

Im around 1/3 the age of most AARP members and I can tell you the last time Notre Dame was relevant.

It is interesting that this noob brings this thread back up. I actually was going to bump it to the top on the 15th which would have been a whole year since I started agrivating the piss out of y'all.

Think the noob is a troll in Irish clothing with several usernames. (which he all used in the Packer thread)
12/9 11:42 AM | IP: Logged
It may be a bit to early to tell if the poster (or posters) is Irish but of all the old threads to bring up from page 4 he/she/they pick this one? It really makes me question whether or not he/she/they are actually a troll.

It is just an odd set of circumstances.

Dumbnole, you remind me of the kid I saw in a mental hospital years ago while volunteering one summer.  The kid was constantly abusing himself.  I asked a nurse if it bothered her and your post made me remember what she said.  She agreed that it was disgusting, but he couldn't help himself, and besides who wants to go in there and stop him.

Sean, you used the commercial break of your daily Matlock watching to type that?

They've also been posting on II free football board, they're posers.

There's even Bama fans joining II to post.
Think the Bama board is an all-pay site, so guess they gotta do what they do, to post for free.

LOL, I bet Sean hasn't thought about "Matlock" in years, until you brought it up. If you ever stop the intake of Lord Pervert you'll realize how silly you sound.
12/9 12:42 PM | IP: Logged
Well if it wasn't Matlock I'm sure it was Murder She Wrote. It's Sean's nap time soon so I'll have to wait until about 2 pm eastern to see which one it was.

Sure it was, and I'm busy playing rock, paper, scissors to decide whether to watch Star Wars or Star Trek, or play Scrabble. You definitely have been suffering from second hand El Stupido-itis.

I have one account. I'm just a jokester. The other guy you guys think might be me has an IP address that shows he lives in Iowa, and I'm in Michigan, about a half hour away from Notre Dame. Part of the reason why I am and have always been Irish.

As I said, second hand El Stupido-itis. You're about as close as Ian Stewart is to being the next Mike Schmidt.

So is it Tron or Flash Gordon?
12/9 7:34 PM | IP: Logged

The only Flash Gordon I know was Tom "Flash" Gordon, relief pitcher for the Cubs and many others. You'll just have to indulge your fantasy with a few more swigs of Lord Pervert.
