I would inform you that you do not understand auto correct but I fear you will again revert to your safe place aka spelling smack.

You see if I type mesmerized well that's what I get. Should I miss the letter 's' and type 'memerized' the iPad will auto correct to 'memorized'. I would apologize for using such a technologically advanced machine and curse it's attempt to make me spell correctly but alas, I've grown fond of the thing.

LOL. I don't play scrabble or shuffleboard. My activities include drinking like a fish and being a pest in general. Til tomorrow. You're ruining my mojo with Alice anyways.

Yeah, Dick, figured that out with your usage of trim and tail...:)

I take it you're not into bad boys? I'm the guy your Mama warned you about. The kinda guy that is so intriguing that you can't help but to be memorized by. It's ok. My confidence is unwavering and is part of my charm.

Now I left you a post on the WC SB that showed my sensitive side. It's in the thread titled with my username. 3dGrin

Oh I've heard that tired old "mama" line several times...laugh

Talking "guy" talk about females to a female isn't charming and a truly bad boy knows this.

Well I apologize for my past transgressions. I will admit it wasn't very becoming of me as a true Southern gentleman. 3dGrin

It must have been the Lord Calvert talking...or the beer....or the jello shooters with vodka, tequila, and coconut rum....or the Crown Royal....or the peanut butter rum balls. As Tom T. Hall says "Whiskeys too rough, champagne cost too much, vodka puts my mouth in gear. This little refrain should help me explain as a matter of fact I like beer". roll

Twas a great night on town. The ale flowed freely.

I believe you don't play Scrabble as that takes verbal acuity. Now, shuffleboard sounds more like your game. You're not much of a pest, as your biggest weapon would be boring someone to death. Mojo with Alice?! laugh I think in your case she's more likely to say "No! Joe!"

I wouldn't purposely omit the 's' scrabbie. It's called missing the key stroke and with a sensitive touch screen it happens quite often.

Now back to the topic, seeing as FSU likes beating ND twice as often as the other way around, how do you see this matchup shaping up? I actually think the luck of the Irish could keep you within two TD's of FSU. Should your midget wearing green forget his lucky charms we could be looking at a 3-4 TD romp by the Noles.

The worst part about it for ND is after a loss you still have to go back to northern Indiana. That might suck worse than getting spanked by FSU laugh.

Keep pretending that you knew how to spell "mesmerized." At least you're ashamed of your ignorance, such self-recognition is progress.

Actually, Notre Dame likes graduating its players twice as often as does Florida State and winning National Championships more than twice as often as does Florida State. We also enjoy being undefeated against Florida and dominating Miami in head-to-head, rather than being prone to losing to them. I guess the pressure of in-state rivalry unnerves you.

You talk about luck, I'm not sure if any luck is needed against a team who lost to Virginia and to Wake Forest, a team Notre Dame beat.

Funny, you mention "go back" to Northern Indiana. I haven't been there in quite some time. However, I wouldn't want to spend much time in sweltering gnat invested melanoma inducing Florida. I'm glad for you that you like it but that's a matter of poor taste. You probably think Budweiser is a quality beer.

You've now resorted to academic smack. Too bad ND is scared to enter a conference or you would probably rule at conference smack. You want to throw in attendance smack as well.

FSU has been owning ND for a while now on the football field. You guys should consider yourselves lucky to not get shutout this time.

Too bad for ND that they didn't get a chance to rack up victories against FSU before the invention of the atom bomb like they did against the rest of the programs they have a lead in the head to head series.

Posted on 12/17 8:53 PM | IP: Logged

roll

How funny that you can't even address the academic smack except to pretend it's...well...academic. Hate to tell you this, but Florida State supposedly is an academic institution with a responsibility to educate its football players. Pretty sad that amounts to a probability of flipping a coin.

I already addressed the attendance smack...National Television Network. Remember? laugh

I never knew the atom bomb was invented in 1955, when the Miami-ND series began. Apparently, that was a big firecracker that the Enola Gay dropped on Hiroshima.

LOL, it's such a delight to swat your hanging curveballs for tape measure home runs. chairshot

Posted on 12/17 9:09 PM | IP: Logged

Yea, GPA is for nerds. Scoreboard is where it's at. Academic smack is a losers retort because after your team has been dominated on the football field to run GPA smack is pretty weak sauce.

laugh @ you still trying to prove ND has accomplished anything recently. I mean ND beat up on Navy also after the 60's as well but again, ND getting dominated by the majority of the football world recently is set in stone. Keep hanging you hat on victories that were had before your parents were born while I'll enjoy the memories of actually watching my team win NC's.

I'm still laughing at you hiding behind UM and UF because ND can't beat FSU themselves. FSU has dominated ND. You can't get away from that nor can you get away from the last meeting between the two teams in which you got handed the worst home shut out in your history. roll

Posted on 12/17 9:50 PM | IP: Logged

OK, so you're impervious to the humiliation surrounding your program, and its fetid status as being father of the greatest scholastic scandal in college football history and having a disgusting graduation rate of around 50%. IMO, that makes you the uber loser, but indulge in your juvenile priorities if you must.

As for non-academic issues, we've already established that Notre Dame is all time leader in number of NCs, number of Heismans, and second highest all time in winning %. Unlike you, I don't have to manipulate history and highlist some qualified slice of time to brag about my program. Of course, even on that scale you fail miserably. Florida State has had 4-loss or more seasons dating back to 2004.

You keep squealing for me to relent on punishing you with your unfavorable comparisons to two other Florida schools, but I'm sorry I'll continue, as it underscores how minimalist Florida State is. In every facet Florida State suffers in comparisons against Miami and Florida. You know it, I know it, Thuggie knows it, Alice knows it....of course senile Bobby Bowden might not know it. laugh

Complain all you want, but you have to admit my data is factual. Alas, the same can't be said of yours. Even your last sentence is bogus. chairshot

Again, the worst home shut out was by SC a in 2007.

So you think none of us were alive in '88?

I was watching Irish football before I was old enough understand that Indiana was a state, can still remember asking my Pops, "Where's this Notre Dame at" and was dumbfounded when I was told Indiana. (probably was a first, or second grader)

I have a sixteen year old daughter, so obviously I've watch a lot of Irish football, seen some NC's and I'm definitely not as old as my parents. Heck my Pops could tell you all about Leahy, and he grew up a buck lovin' Nut in Ohio.

Should we have you on suicide watch when ND wins the Champs Bowl?

Alice, you shouldn't confuse poor old Rona about scores. He probably thinks 37 is a bigger number than 38. laugh

Oh by all means talk about UM and UF all you want as it relates to FSU. Whatever helps ease the pain of FSU owning the school that you root for is fine by me.

Your NC's that were won in the leather helmet days don't impress me. They never will. I'm not rewriting history, I'm simply telling you a universal fact that NC's won during your lifetime are far more important than ones won during the great depression.

Posted on 12/17 10:26 PM | IP: Logged

Thank you for giving me permission to rub your nose into the stinkpile of knowledge that Miami and Florida have relegated your sadsack team to tertiary status in your own state.

There you go again, making fun of another team's glorious total of NCs, which dwarfs yours. That you distort when and how those NCs were won subjects you to further ridicule. I guess when you're so far behind, as FSU is, you have to invent your reality to glamorize your unglamorous position. Speaking of great depression, Miami and Florida own you.

Yeah, I can see why NC's in the forties/thirties/twenties wouldn't interest you, there was no FSU, only a girl's school. laugh

Who would have thought that for as great as you claim ND is, you have to rely on UM and UF to do your dirty work. Living off of other programs success - the Notre Dame way roll.

Since you're living off of other programs success, maybe we can get some Bama fans in here and you guys can debate who can claim the most NC's. Then when that is done you can talk about who is still winning them. laugh

I'm giving the last call post for the evening. I will return at a future date to continue to point out how embarrassing ND is to the football world but specifically how you have and always will be looked down upon by the great Florida State University.

I swear it's because ND is such a non-factor that the nation can hardly keep up with how bad you're getting smoked at your place. laugh

Should ND be lucky enough to win the Champs bowl, I'll come give congrats, but I'm not too concerned about that.
3dGrin. I enjoy the smack talk and don't take any of this serious. You guy and gal (damn this place gets less traffic than the WC SB) have a good evening and I'm really out this time. I missed this post earlier and didn't want you to feel like I was ignoring you tongue.

Posted on 12/17 11:19 PM | IP: Logged

I'm sorry you're so rankled by my citing your inferiority to instate rivals Miami and Florida. Let's just call it my maneuver of unabashed sadism.

Oh, I think Bama's claimed NC titles is something akin to Avogadro's number times pi. It even claims a title in the year when it lost a Sugar Bowl game to an undefeated Notre Dame team. I could cite its 1-5 record against Notre Dame, but that I'd just leave the matter to the cfbdatawarehouse.com, which is a pretty fair arbiter.

Of course you'll return. It's your act of submission that trumps all your petulant challenges, denials, and frustrations. I'm sure your self-loathing is a direct consequence of knowing your program is inferior to Notre Dame's by any measure. Have fun getting soused by the pool and try not to incur Brian Jones' disease.

I think he's more rankled that FSU isn't among the bluebloods of college football. :)

Without the past, there is no present, or future. Rail against the foundation/history of college football all you want, but without it, where would it be?

Precisely. His entire argument is that in a handful of games, Florida State has a slight edge over ND in head to head. Using that logic, he'd have to cede that FSU is an inferior program to Kentucky, which leads FSU 4-1-1 in games played. Noboby believes that, but that's his logic.

BTW, I checked FSU's record against various teams and found out that they have an all time record of 4-13 vs. Auburn. Wow!!!! Now, that's being taken to the woodshed.

Posted on 12/18 10:09 AM | IP: Logged

I have no problem with ND owning the past as long as FSU keeps owning the present and future. 3dGrin

Posted on 12/18 11:39 AM | IP: Logged

Ok since we can all agree that ND's impact on college football has been largely non-existent since games have been televised on a regular basis, let's try to figure out where the problem is.

I've heard about the great past Heisman winners from ND. One of my favorite Heisman winners from ND is Paul Hornung. Now he opined that the admission standards may be too high and could exclude certain athletes. I don't really remember the rest of the quote but I was wondering if his opinion was shared by the majority of ND fans.

I'm not totally against ND becoming relevant again and I think it may be good for college football if ND were to be able to win a bowl game more often than once every ten years or so.

What did you guys ever do with all the tampon dispensers from your old football facilities? You could make some good coin selling those to certain FSU fans.

To answer your question Subby, sometime around the end of the 1993 season we shipped all of the said feminine product dispensers to some place by the name of South Bend, IN. tongue

Why do you keep saying "we" when referencing things that only you agree is true? You must be Sybil.

Now what's this bilge about ND having to win a bowl game every ten years? ND has won two bowls games in three years. Seems like your strategy is to say things that are inaccurate and follow up by saying other things that are inaccurate.

You can't accuse me of that. When I say that Miami and Florida have dominated you might whine and complain, but you can't deny its accuracy.

Huh???? Obviously the future is uncertain but as for the present, you're mired in 4-loss-or-more seasons dating back to 2004. Moreover, there are two Florida teams that have won NCs this millennium and Florida State ain't one of them. Nice fantasy you have.

I hope Alice doesn't try that concoction. If your intake is any evidence, it induces that the bizarre illusion that a team dominated by two instate rivals is greater than the team with the most NCs of all time.

Posted on 12/18 6:27 PM | IP: Logged

laugh

Still tugging on another program's dongs I see. You would think a fan of such a storied university like ND wouldn't need to resort to having to use another programs accomplishments but yet you continue to do it.

Furthermore you have to use another programs recent NC's because the university you're trying to run with has won not one but TWO NC's since you last won one. How pathetic you must feel to have absolutely no ammo to use except other programs accomplishments. laugh

And you still haven't addressed Paul Hornung. Does his opinion reflect the majority of ND fans opinion or not?

Posted on 12/18 8:08 PM | IP: Logged

Still whining, kvetching, moaning, pouting, brooding, and sulking over my bashing you about Miami and Florida. It's so much fun seeing you seethe and flail over this. Of course you can't deny my accuracy.

You said Florida State had the "present" and I quickly cited documented evidence to refute your asinine claim. Again, you can't deny my accuracy.

Paul Hornung was a fantastic player and an endearing character--the man held the NFL scoring record for decades--but he's now an old man and out of touch. No, his opinions aren't held by the majority of ND fans. Why are you so curious to know about that?

As long as we're asking questions, tell me how you became a Cubs fan, being down in Florida, where the Cubs don't even have Spring Training.

Since I've been tweaking you so relentlessly, I'll give you a Christmas present of a trivia item. What bizarre baseball feat do Ron Santo and Deion Sanders share? Ask, and I'll provide the answer.

Posted on 12/18 8:25 PM | IP: Logged

WGN. Every day in the summer. I have been to Wrigley for over 50 games and the ATL to see them. Last encounter was the playoff series in ATL (the year escapes me because I'm pounding Lord Calvert). I actually love the city of Chicago and love baseball in general. I've been to a few of the storied ball parks.

I still don't like you very much. What do you have about Deion and Ron? Thank Christ Santo finally got into the Hall (or at least I think I remember reading that).

Posted on 12/18 8:43 PM | IP: Logged

Oh and we used to stay (what I remember to be The Omni) in Evanstan. Lovely town and about four blocks from Northwestern's campus. It was a short L ride to downtown. We'd eat every morning at a place called 'Le Peep'. I looked it up online a few months ago to see if it was still there.

I have plans to go back eventually.

Posted on 12/18 8:51 PM | IP: Logged

I can understand why you don't like me very much, given the beating I've subjected you to.

Deion and Santo both once led the league in triples. Santo did this in 1964. Obviously, speed wasn't part of his game but he did this nonetheless. The joke is that he would had about 9 inside the park home runs if he had had average speed.

BTW, WGN, if you don't know, is an acronym for World's Greatest Newspaper. A reference to the Chicago Tribune.

I love Chicago and have basically been here all my life, except for a brief periods of time. As Roger Ebert says, It's America's largest and most livable city.

Wrigley Field and the abundance of bars around it, is where I spend many a summer's day.

Posted on 12/18 8:59 PM | IP: Logged

The only beatings being doled out is FSU to ND laugh.

Either way, Chicago is a great city. Don't let Thuggie know though. He's a fan of dem der Red Birds.

I've caught a few games at Comiskey as well. I grew up on Michagan Ave (albeit a Southern Michigan Ave). I've done every museum and tour offered in Chicago (gotta do something while waiting for the first pitch right?). I haven't been since I've been able to drink and can't wait to go back.

I grew up on Harry and the Cubs. To be honest, as far as sports teams, the Cubbies are my first love.

Posted on 12/18 9:14 PM | IP: Logged

I hope when the Calvert wears off you'll come to your senses about that.

Indeed, Chicago is great, although I actually prefer New York.

Cubbies are also my first sports love. I go back a little further. Jack Brickhouse was the announcer when I started following them. He was an alcoholic's alcoholic. To adjust the TV so his flushed face would have a flesh color, you'd have red skies and purple grass. I remember when Harry was a Cardinals announcer, and later with the Sox.

My father was an anthropologist in the Chicago Museum of Natural History. About 80% of the material the museum has is stored away. The tour of the vaults is a real mindboggler. The jewel encrusted Tibetan hookah would rake in the fortune.

Anyway, when you wend your way up to Wrigley, check in on this linked bar after the game. It's wonderful. And don't let the Irish name intimidate you. As long as your money's not counterfeit they'll endure your football allegiance. You might hold back on the leprechaun jokes, though.

I was just wondering how bad things get inside your prem boards. It is completely out of hand at canesport and I have been wondering if your board is moderated more strictly when you are in the prem board arguing with other Shame fans.

This is an extremely mild example of the stuff that goes on in our prem board:

A lot of people should take thier own advice...lmao. Having said that I am not thinking up any special ways to slurp a 6-6 coach. Let him do his job.

CD, I enjoy a lot of your posts because they do bring in balance Reply
when some here go overboard in blaming everything on Randy. Golden encountered quite a few of the same problems and that should open eyes of people that this wasn't ALL JUST ON RANDY, BUT.... You never seem to hesitate to give reasons why Randy ran into some of the problems he did but you think nothing of it to just say Golden is a 6-6 coach as if 6-6 in a FIRST YEAR with a team with a recent history of underachievement and entitlement (not my words but those of Alonzo Highsmith, former Cane great who is a scout for the Packers and whose son PLAYED FOR RANDY). Now throw in the Shapiro mess with the suspensions and NCAA cloud hanging over our heads along with the distractions caused by the Penn State job opening up and well if you STILL think that this was an ORDINARY 6-6 season well then you've lost your objectivity when it comes to the present coach.

well said, cane_manny, this cd guy has clearly shown how subjective he is. and he calls himself the truthsayer... what a joke, and his arrogance keeps him from seeing it. hey cd, here's some advice from the bible, "Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise;" Proverbs 17:28

LOL so 90% of the posters on canesport would be banned.........that CDwrong guy(cdwright40, but I nicknamed him CDwrong and everyone calls him that) has been saying he is going to put me on ignore for months yet he always replies. The guy is obnoxious though, the whole back and forth which has gone on for months started because he claims the reason we wanted Shantard fired is because we are racist not because he was a retard and a bad coach. If you saw some of the threads I have shown d-rona you would really freak out, it's the wild west in there.Everything goes.

I can attest to the carnage that is the War Room on Canesport. That place is the bar that you pass by that you'd never go in but find yourself curious as to what actually happens there. laugh

Canesport's Sports Forum is the place where the regulars go outside to smoke and yell obscenities at the people that walk by. roll

Currently, Notre Dame has won two consecutive bowl games. However, before their bowl win in 2008, the Irish had not won a bowl game in 15 years. They even set an NCAA record for the most consecutive bowl losses. It's nice to know the Irish were able to set some kind of record in football again.

And even with all that adversity, Notre Dame has a .500 bowl record of 15-15, which is better than the sub-.500 record of 19-21 sported by Michigan, which is your de facto fallback team since you retreat from taking about your supposed actual favorite, Army.

Dear Faux Army Fan,

Is this your real username, or are you just the standard Wolvie poster with several alternative accounts for stupic posting on rivals' boards?

Sincerely,
Alice
