June 25, 2012It is no secret that Oregon State has had a lot of success in recent years with undersized receivers who are quick as lightning. They continue to evaluate players and have recently offered a receiver who could fit in nicely with the Beavers offense.
Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) Los Osos receiver Victor Bolden recently showcased his skills at the Get It Done Camp held at Fullerton College. Coach Brennan and the Beavers took notice. He also had an exceptional showing at the UCLA camp this past weekend.
At 5-foot-9, 165 pounds, Bolden isn't the biggest threat on the field, but his speed and shiftiness make up for it on the field.
"The camps went pretty good," Bolden said. "I was able to showcase my abilities against the cornerbacks show my versatility to both run and catch the ball. My strength is my speed and my ability to spread the defense out so the Beavers really see me filling that role of a fly sweep guy who can run the reverse or go deep."
With offers on the table from Eastern Washington, Hawaii and Oregon State, Bolden is looking forward to checking out some campuses.
"Right now I'm planning to visit Corvallis in early August," he said. "I had a lot of fun around the Oregon State coaches and I love their coaching staff. They taught me a lot of things in a short amount of time."
Bolden said that he plans to start talking things over with his family and hopes to make a commitment prior to the start of his senior season. This upcoming weekend he will be taking part in the B2G Elite Camp at Cal Lutheran.
