Record setter sets the record straight
Last year, the Emanuel County Institute ran over the state, literally, on their way to an undefeated season and a state championship. The player doing most of the running was Rivals100's Washaun Ealey, who set the single season touchdown record with 58 as a junior. With his senior season on the horizon, the future Bulldog answered some pressing questions for UGASports.com.
Here is an exclusive Q&A with one of the top backs in the country.
Since your commitment to UGA in January, there has been speculation that your recruitment was not over. Can you tell us how solid you are to UGA?
"All the way. I'm very committed and I can't wait to get to Athens."
Are other schools still on you pretty hard?
"Not that I know of, I only talk to UGA coaches. I send all other schools straight to my head coach."
You are currently ranked as the number 10 back in the country, do you feel that is probably accurate or is it too low because of the lower classification you play in?
"I try to not think about rankings, I just try to be the best running back that I can."
Do you plan on visiting any other schools before signing day?
"If colleges want me to come up, I will accept their invitation to see new places. South Carolina and a couple others have offered, but they are not going to change my mind."
