Scouting Brownwood's Casey Pachall
The debate on the state's top quarterback for the Class of 2009 continues to pick up steam and there's certainly not a lack of candidates. Russell Shepard and Garrett Gilbert might be getting most of the publicity, but others like Brownwood's Casey Pachall and Dayton's Cody Green have entered the discussion as well. Orangebloods.com scouted Pachall this past weekend and came away very impressed with his skill as an athlete and his upside as a passer. Here's a full scouting report.
Overview: State-ranked Brownwood visited undefeated Burnet on Friday and walked out of town with a hard-fought 12-9 win. Pachall struggled in the first half, completing only three of ten passes for 31 yards, but he responded with a much better second half and led his team from behind for the win. Overall, Pachall completed nine of 20 passes for 110 yards and an interception, while adding 32 yards on 15 carries.
