English's attitude pays off

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - An hour before Missouri's Big 12 tournament final against Baylor, Kim English began to warm up on the court of the Ford Center. With a swarm of defenders on him, English dribbled right and left as Baylor's pep band jokingly jeered.

English, however, was dribbling only air. He didn't even have a basketball in his hands. And that swarm of defenders? It was comprised of three Ford Center towel boys.

It may seem odd for English to be so light-hearted, considering he was mired in a weeks-long shooting slump entering Saturday's game. On Feb. 9, English exploded for 16 points and 4 assists against Iowa State. In the nine games since, the freshman guard went 10 of 45 from the field, and had 12 turnovers to only four assists.
