Florida State's coaching staff successfully built a prominent recruiting class early in 2008, and most importantly, held on to its commitments until their pens met their letters of intent. A major reason why FSU was able to hold on to its commitments was the loyalty of several big name recruits such as high four-star athlete Willie Downs from Tallahassee Godby High School.
For Downs, signing his letter of intent to his dream school was something special.
