Heading into the 2008 season the cornerback positions was an area of concern.

Over the last two seasons the Bears have seen seniors C.J. Wilson, Anthony Arline, James Todd, Alton Widemon, and Josh Bell all graduate leaving behind sophomores Cliff Odom, Antareis Bryan, and Dominique Criss as the only ones with experience at the position coming into the spring.

So in the spring coach Art Briles and his staff made a few moves to sure things up. Adding a little leadership to the group by moving Dwain Crawford over from safety and some athleticism by switching sophomore Krys Buerck from offense to defense.
