Garrett excited about LSU commitment
In 1994 Peyton Manning drew the ire of Ole Miss fans as the son of legendary Rebels quarterback Archie Manning decided to take his talents to the University of Tennessee instead of following his dad's legend to Oxford.
The correlations between the Manning situation and LSU's latest commitment are eerily similar.
Tupelo High School standout Chris Garrett became the latest member of the Class of 2009 for the defending National Champion LSU Tigers on Wednesday after earlier committing to the Mississippi State Bulldogs; a school where his brother is and his dad is the President of the Alumni Association.
The 6-4, 220-pound signal caller is the eighth commitment thus far for Les Miles and his staff and is the second quarterback, along with Rivals.com five-star athlete Russell Shepard.
"Honestly this has been one of the best days of my life," Garrett said.
