Aggies looking forward to bright future on the hardwood
The 2007-08 season had one common theme for the Texas A&M men's basketball team, and that theme was inconsistency. Late in the season, however, the Aggies got things rolling late. Over the last week of the regular season and the Big 12 tournament, A&M lost to just one team in five games - Kansas. The Jayhawks, by the way, are still dancing in the Sweet 16 and no one has come close to them since the Aggies.
Sorry Texas, anything by double digits isn't close.
The team that ultimately knocked the Aggies out of the NCAA tournament, UCLA, is still playing as well even if the result over A&M is as controversial as any in recent NCAA history.
The Aggies aren't looking back at the season, or even last week in Anaheim as much as they are looking ahead to the 2008-09 season. With the team buying into head coach Mark Turgeon at the right time, and Turgeon proving that he is the tournament coach that can take A&M to the next level, the future in Aggieland looks bright.
