Pressure packed Iron Bowl for quarterbacks
Brandon Cox enters Saturday's 72nd Iron Bowl looking to become only the second Auburn quarterback in history to end his career with a 3-0 record as a starter against Alabama.
Tide quarterback John Parker Wilson is looking for his first Iron Bowl win as a starter following last year's 22-15 loss in Tuscaloosa in which he threw an interception and fumbled twice, leading to two AU touchdowns.
Both will be under the microscope in a game that's replayed over and over in the hearts, minds and television screens of fans on both sides of this heated rivalry.
"I think there's a lot of pressure on quarterbacks that play in this game, especially when they're from this state," said AU head coach Tommy Tuberville. "I think they know a lot more about it. They've grown up with it."
Tuberville said having a proven winner like Cox is a big confidence boost for his team heading into Saturday night's matchup.
