Upon completion of the 2006 season Sal Battles began preparations for his senior season at East High School in Youngstown, Ohio. The 6-foot-10, 221-pound quarterback/safety had to get used to his new surroundings, teammates and school colors.

Battles didn't transfer, but he is attending a different school. His previous school-the former Rayen High-closed its doors last spring and merged with Wilson High to create East High School. That merger wasn't without some bumps in the road, but it did little to derail a solid senior campaign by Battles.
